T in the Park founder Geoff Ellis is one of the guest speakers at The Main Event tomorrow.

Mr Ellis and Dragons’ Den star Shaf Rasul are among the top businessmen sharing the secrets of their success at Scotland’s only event dedicated to corporate events, hospitality and entertainment.

Last year The Main Event attracted more than 1,000 visitors who found out how to make a success of corporate dinners, conferences and parties.

This year it includes almost 100 exhibitors, five guest speaker sessions and four interactive zones at Glasgow’s SECC.

Maire Douglas, from The Main Event 2010 team, said: “When organising an event the main barriers are often where to source information on venues, organisers, entertainment, transport and catering.

“The Main Event will answer all these questions and show the best of what Scotland has to offer.”

Organiser QD events is targeting anyone who deals with businesses’ events, from sourcing venues and entertainment to team building and merchandising.

Mr Ellis and Mr Rasul will share their knowledge with the audience, while John Shaw, director and co-founder of creative staff development agency Theatre of Ideas, will give a seminar on building staff morale.

Scotland’s finest suppliers on show at The Main Event will include exhibitors in corporate venues and catering, event lighting services, production designers, entertainers, hospitality and events experts, corporate days and team building. The companies exhibiting include: Apex Hotels, En Croute Catering, and Northern Light.

Digital Partners has now also launched a flash only website for the event at the SECC.

Digital Partners Scott Seeley said: “It was a great opportunity to design a flash-based website and we were allowed a bit of creative freedom.”
