BigOffers Sold- I've Big Change in Store on Web.

I have decided to sell BigOffers, my discount cash and carry, to focus my attention on other projects.

BigOffers, based at Newbridge in Edinburgh, has been acquired by Aberdeen-born Shahzad and Waseem Anwar, whose family interests include a distribution business, clothing manufacturing businesses and a portfolio of restaurants.

Launched in the early part of 2011, the store has gone on to develop a significant client base, offering cash-starved consumers the opportunity to snap-up big name products at heavily discounted prices.

Prior to launching BigOffers  our market research told us that consumers wanted a deal but didn’t necessarily want to compromise on the quality, so I am extremely proud of the fact that BigOffers capitalised on this demand.

There has been a large appetite for the consumer mix offered within BigOffers, but we have made a strategic decision to pull-back from bricks and mortar retailing and re-focus our efforts into ecommerce and developing online sales platforms.

I have no doubt that Shahzad and his team, who bring a wealth of retail experience, will utilise all of this to build on the success we have already achieved at BigOffers when the store is re-launched on July 1.

To be taking-over a business which has earned a solid reputation for offering consumers heavily discounted deals on high quality goods is obviously a very exciting prospect for Shazad.
