By 1999, Strathclyde graduate Shaf Rasul
was already a self-made multi-millionaire
with an extensive investment portfolio
that would allow him to take it easy for
the rest of his life. It was at that time that
Mr Rasul – who was recently named as
one of two new Dragons in an online
version of the BBC’s Dragons’ Den –
established E-Net Computers.
Ten years on the business is now the
largest storage media distributor in
Europe and one the biggest buyers of
optical storage products in the world.
The business has developed partnerships
with the world’s top optical media
manufacturers and has retained supply
agreements with a wide portfolio of
web-stores and high-street retail chains. A
global import/export hub in Dubai and a
£5 million distribution centre at Edinburgh
Airport have also been established to
support the growth of the business which
recorded peak sales of £67.2 million during
2004-05. As well as masterminding the
growth of E-Net Computers, Mr Rasul has
also developed a venture capital investment
portfolio which focuses on property, asset
management and internet technology.
Shaf Rasul will be delivering the keynote
speech at the University’s Enterprise Awards
Dinner on Tuesday 17th November 2009.
The BBC’s online version of Dragons’ Den
will be airing on television later this year.
