City dragon searches for apprentices
Published Date: 22 December 2009
BBC Dragons' Den star Shaf Rasul has launched a nationwide search to find three apprentices.
Three youngsters will win a one-year apprenticeship programme and an opportunity to be shaped and mentored by the Edinburgh-based businessman.
The entrepreneur – who stars in an online version of the BBC's Dragons' Den – has already successfully lADVERTISEMENT
aunched a training scheme across his business portfolio which includes the distribution of storage media as well as property, internet technology and e-commerce.
The latest initiative has been launched in response to latest government figures which show that youth unemployment hit one million during November.
Mr Rasul said: "In my role as an entrepreneur and mentor I have been inspired by some of the enterprising youngsters I have come across.
"I am a firm believer that there are always opportunities in an economic downturn and the strategy within my business has been to consolidate, re-structure and focus our efforts on sectors which offer high-growth potential.
"With this in mind we need bright, energetic, driven and innovative people to join our team and play a key role in the growth of our business portfolio."
The role will be predominately based in his Newbridge base.
